Founding Partner

Luis is the Founding Partner of Valora. While working side by side with a client, Luis identified an unmet need: independent value assessment. So, in 2011, he decided to create a firm with the unmatched level of service required to solve for this need. As Valora’s clients’ needs grew, Valora’s personalized offering expanded to meet them. Luis gathered a team of seasoned professionals who, like him, would not only get the job done, but use their decades of experience to always find a way and go above and beyond for Valora clients.
Luis has over twenty-five years of experience in Corporate Finance, General Management and Consulting. Prior to founding Valora, he worked at Movilnet (Verizon mobile unit in Venezuela) as Marketing Vice-President and prior to that as Finance Vice President. Luis also had a tenure at McKinsey & Company, where he brought his focus on strategy and value creation within the banking industry in the U.S., Portugal, Venezuela, and the Dominican Republic.
Luis holds an MBA from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). He is fluent in both Spanish and English.

Sylvia Rosso is a Managing Partner of Valora, focusing on private client services and global entity management. With nearly twenty years of experience in wealth structuring, fiduciary management, and governance, she has worked extensively across Europe and the Caribbean, specializing in cross-border solutions for high-net-worth individuals, families, and family offices. Sylvia combines her strong academic foundation with extensive practical experience in trust and company administration, regulatory and tax compliance, and offshore governance. Known for her meticulous attention to detail and proactive problem-solving approach, she thrives on helping clients achieve their goals through personalized and compliant strategies.
She holds a Master’s degree in International Law from the “Institut Du Droit De La Paix Et Du Developpement” in Nice, France, and studied at Oxford. A Member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP), she is also fully qualified as a Fund Administrator. She is fluent in English, French, and Italian.

Brent Blake is a Managing Partner at Valora and Co-Founder of Valora Institutional. He is also a venture partner and investment committee member for Task Force X Fund III. Brent has more than fifteen years of experience within the entire financial ecosystem, including valuation, corporate finance, investing, capital markets, fund administration, business consulting, advisory services, and leadership. Prior to merging with Valora, Brent was the Founder and Managing Director at Valariti, a boutique valuation and consulting practice where he brought his focus on creating dedicated and integrated relationships with clients rather than being a traditional, transactional service provider. Brent continues that focus on true partnership at Valora. Previously, Brent was the Director of Valuations and Fund Administration at VBO (acquired by TMF Group in 2021), where he developed and led the valuation and consulting practice that focused primarily on institutional investors (private equity and venture capital) and early-stage companies, in addition to overseeing a fund administration team.
Brent is a US Army veteran and holds a MAcc in enterprise risk management from North Carolina State University and a BBA in finance from Kent State University. He is a member of the CFA Institute, CFA Society NC, AICPA, NACVA, and ncaCPA. He is a licensed CPA in North Carolina and an active CFA Charterholder, holding ABV and CVA valuation credentials.

Carlos Camarán is a Managing Partner at Valora with over twenty-five years of experience in Consulting, Strategy, Corporate Finance, and General Management. Prior to joining Valora, he was Vice President of Strategic Planning and Business Development at Farmatodo, a retailer with operations in Venezuela and Colombia, and spent eight years working in management consulting at McKinsey & Company and Valoris Consulting, across Venezuela, Colombia, the Dominican Republic, Spain, and England, primarily in Telecommunications, Media, and Banking. Additionally, he worked at Verizon International as Director of Strategy and Management Control. This work across a wide spectrum of business, from strategy consulting to leadership at a family-owned business, helped him understand the importance of true partnership. He learned to ask questions and unleash his natural curiosity to build personal relationships with clients.
Carlos holds an MBA from ESADE in Barcelona, Spain and is fluent in both Spanish and English.

Dr. Isabella Otero is a Partner and Head of Research at Valora with over twenty-five years of experience in Corporate Finance, Financial Research and Consulting. Prior to being part of the founding team at Valora, Isabella worked at Florida International University as Adjunct Professor in the Finance Department where she continues to be a guest lecturer. She also had a four-year tenure at Instituto de Estudios Superiores de Administración, IESA, where she served as lecturer, researcher and consultant in the areas of Corporate Finance, Corporate Governance and Public Policy. Isabella applies her academic and research background to her work at Valora, making sure they are applying the latest financial practices and methodologies to their individualized work with clients.
Isabella holds a PhD in Finance and an MA in Management from Tulane University and an MSc in Environmental Science from the University of London. She is fluent in both Spanish and English.
